7/18/13 – Last month the Grand Jury of Orange County, California issued a report entitled “Orange County Water Sustainability: Who Cares?” The report details the county’s current water supply portfolio, describes challenges to existing sources and makes recommendations to encourage water supply reliability in the future. The Grand Jury evaluated the Cadiz Valley Water Conservation, Recovery and Storage Project during its assessment of Orange County’s future supply options and found that the Project is a potential future source of water for the county’s water districts “that should not be ignored.” As part of its conclusion, the Grand Jury recommended that “water districts in South Orange County shall consider the Cadiz Project in any discussion on sustainability of water in the southern part of the county.” To view a copy of the report, click here.
